As Hearts and Hooves day rolls around, Flintlock goes about his ritual of cleaning the attic - or at least, that’s his excuse to the rest of the family. It’s also a time to dig out his old uniforms and bits of nostalgia and… to look at pictures. Passion may only last a moment, but love can last a lifetime.

Well… my muses did it to me again. There I am, sitting with a story that just needs revisions, and they go, “No! We want you to work on this!” I suppose ultimately, they know best. You can consider this my Hearts’n’Hooves day contribution I think.

I apologize that it’s so short, but I suppose some stories… don’t need long to tell. I can’t afford to get cover art for it right now, but that will come later I think. In the meantime though, I hope you enjoy the story.

Fair warning, this story is “bittersweet.” It… doesn’t quite fit the sad tag, but it isn’t… well, you’ll see.

So, a friend of mine saw my post bubbling over about the guard pony I call Goodwill. For those of you who missed that post, it’s the guard pony delivering the message in the first five minutes of the Season 3 premier of FiM.

He decided to take it upon himself to make the image you see, and I loved it so much I wrote the poem to go with it. He gave me permission to add the poem to the image, but I’ve included a version both with and without. I’m really thrilled by this - it’s absolutely excellent work.

For those who feel it’s a little silly to go gaga over a cartoon character, you’re absolutely right, it is. I admit I don’t really mind being a little silly. But, I guess in some ways, Goodwill is a symbol of who I hope to have someday in real life. So, hopefully y’all won’t begrudge me a few warm fuzzies from this till that time and that person comes.

So, first I feel like I need to apologize.

Yes, this is a new story from me. No, it is not one the stories I’ve been working on. So for those of you who were hoping this was them, I am sorry to disappoint. However, fear not.

My friend BillyColt and I were talking about how we were mutually in a writing rut. To get past that rut, we decided to give each other writing prompts, and his prompt for me was “An earth pony has to deal with silverware.” This is the result of that prompt.

I am still working on the other stories; they have not been abandoned. It’s my hope that in completing this story, it’ll give me the nudge I need to complete the other stories I have in the works, some of which are nearing finished. I want to thank everyone who has given me their support and their time in both reading my stories and letting me know how much they’ve enjoyed them. It’s been a very big encouragement.

While this may not have been the story you were hoping for, I hope you enjoy it all the same.

I mentioned the other day that I had just finished a very long story. Well, it’s done, and currently on FimFiction. It is, again, a different kind of story. It’s tagged [Dark] but don’t let that scare you. It contains some darker elements, but it isn’t grimdark. [Alternate Universe] is another tag, but unlike “A Love Letter,” you’ll find this world is very much Equestrian, aside from its more serious themes.

It also contains coltcuddlers, and while the main plot of the story doesn’t revolve around that, homosexual relationships are prominent. So, for those of you who aren’t into that, please take that into account when deciding whether or not to read.

It’s also an odd story in that it had a very strange genesis: A facetious comment from the Ask-A-Pre-Reader thread on ponychan/fic/. I read the comment about the scenario, and for some reason, my muses in their usual fickle, finicky manner, took an interest. For the next several days I found myself compulsively writing and rewriting. Here’s hoping that the story which came out of it is worth the time reading.

The image is the cover-art, which may change if I edit it/fix it up more. I couldn’t afford a commission this time around, so I decided to try my hand at making my own. It’s the result of 2 days worth of work just in itself. It’s not the best, but, it turned out better than I expected. My apologies to the more art-inclined of my followers if your eyes burn, hehe. I’m an amateur, and I’m sure there are a dozen and one things wrong with it.

Thank you all for being patient with me and watching my work. I really do appreciate each of you.

And, this is the second MLP:FiM fan fic I’ve written. It’s also the first clop-fic (yes, that means it has sex in it… I wonder how many people are still reading the description….). It was done from a writing prompt on ponychan/fic/, and I have to admit I had fun with it even if I did write it while freezing outside listening to many dogs bark. Still, maybe the cold was part of the inspiration! Definitely made me want to have a stallion to cuddle up to, I’ll tell ya that.

So, this would be the first MLP:FiM fanfic I ever wrote. It went through a few various versions due to reviews, but I think it finally settled on where it’s going to stay. Looking back at this, I’m beginning to think that I’m much better at writing short-stories than I am at writing things with lengthy chapters. I can actually finish them. But that doesn’t stop me from trying! I have a chapter-fic in the works. We’ll see when it ever gets done.
