No Butterscotch! No! Why are you doing this to us? AUGH!
Don’t worry, I won’t be doing this too often. However, I decided to invest in SAI, and this is my first pony sketch attempt. Why is his hair and tail the cheapest, easiest design? Because I very quickly learned that I stink at drawing hair - more than I stink at drawing in general. Obviously, I’m an amateur when it comes to pony anatomy. Please forgive my proportions, I’m kinda new at this.
Anyway, this is done using references from SBMinifridge, who I think is wonderful. I see his art sketches all the time and am inspired to draw. I decided for once I would actually fulfill that desire, as hard as it is to do. Practice makes passable! I actually love drawing, but rarely do it, and generally I’m more comfortable with a pencil and paper but… ah well. It’s much easier to erase things in SAI.
Sadly though, I have no pressure sensitivity, so if the lines look bad, yeah, that’s why. I have one reason to be proud of his picture. I did not trace anything! This was all done by hand, only looking at references for where joints were and how muscles ought to be, etc.
And as a final l note for those of you who might think otherwise. That blue thing underneath him is his leg, it is not anything else.
Go give this colt some lovings! And support! It turns out he’s actually a naturally good artist. Hooray!
